Family Seeking Like-Minded Partner(s)

My name is Betty and my husband is Bryan. We have three children together, 12, 11 and 8 years of age, all boys. We are looking for a home that will provide us stability going forward for our family, while also being able to build up equity towards our financial future. We are hoping to find a like minded family or individual to purchase a property with, but with an eye for the future. Ideally the single detached home will have two similarly finished spaces where all parties will feel comfortable. It is also in our interests to be mindful of the development potential of the property and to work together with our partner(s) to co-build a laneway house or a similar development in order to establish some rental income on the property after recovering financially from the property purchase.

Due to our children all attending mandarin immersion schools throughout the city our ideal location would be around Fraser and Main and 33rd and 41st although we are willing to look more broadly as well and determine what the commute would look like on a property by property basis. We would require a minimum of three bedrooms ourselves, but depending on the space of the house we could split equitably with a similar sized family or divide value according to the sq feet if we partner with a family who needs more or less space than ourselves or with someone who was looking for a smaller suite in a larger house. Our ideal budget for our share would be about 1.1 million. Our credit scores are around the 800 mark and would like our partners to be similarly placed credit wise.

Technically we are pretty flexible with regard to who we partner with in that it could be a family in similar suites or an individual who is looking for a smaller suite to share in a bigger house. That said, the most important aspect that we would like is that you are developmentally minded in that you will keep your part of the house in good condition and even develop it to a better state over time. In shared spaces, such as the backyard towards the lane, we would like to match with entrepreneurial partners and to eventually develop that space to increase the value of the property, our mutual equity in the property and the ability of the property to generate more income for us.

As far as habits and morals go, we are pretty liberal and do not mind our partner(s) having their own life in their space. That said, we would not like to partner with any smokers/vapers as such activities waft through the property and decrease the property value and offend our senses. Having young children we also do not consume any alcohol or drugs in our own space and even if you appreciate the occasional drink, we would not like our own children exposed to drinking and would appreciate drinking to be kept indoors and in control. Most importantly though is to partner with people who are focused on their future and ready to take the property to its maximum potential with us!

I am from Kenya and have lived in Canada for close to 6 years now. My husband is Canadian but lived in Kenya for over 14 years. We enjoy spending time together as a family, gardening, walks, taking our boys to their soccer practices, martial arts, camping, etc.

We look forward to a co-ownership partnership.
